I always feel like I've seen more of Cronenberg's work than I think I have, and I think it's time I actually start to catch up. I've had an old VHS copy of Videodrome lying around for a while (fitting I know) so decided to watch it. I kind of feel like everything I could really say about this film is summed up about in the quote from Brain O'Blivion in the film. It's strength and power is proved by how even 30 years later the ideas raised in the film feel even more real and prevalent today. All you have to do is replace the metaphor of the television as the controlling evil with computer screens and it becomes wholly more terrifying.
